The Pretty Wild Drops New Single and Official Video "Button Eyes"

Rising NuMetal/metalcore powerhouse, The Pretty Wild, have unleashed their explosive new single, "Button Eyes," along with its official music video, through their new label home, Sumerian Records. Following the success of their breakout hit "sLeepwALkeR," which has already surpassed 5.6 million streams on Spotify and garnered over 381k views on YouTube, the sister duo continues to make waves. Most recently, The Pretty Wild collaborated with Kittie and Diamante on the 'Queen of the Ring' official movie soundtrack, delivering a haunting reimagination of Metallica's iconic track, "The Unforgiven."

Speaking about "Button Eyes", the band shares:

"This song is for anyone who’s ever felt objectified, used or controlled. It’s about the moment you consciously break free from manipulation and you sever ties with that toxicity for good. We used dolls as a vessel for this theme, mostly as a way to blend playful melodies and imagery in a way that lightens a heavy conversation topic." - jules

"'Button Eyes' explores the theme of disillusionment with life and the process of reclaiming personal power. The song cheekily pokes at the painful process of breaking free from the misleading beliefs that held us back and stepping into our truth. Essentially empowering ourselves by rejecting disempowering narratives that were imposed upon us. Personally, I love this one because it comes across fun, poppy, and superficial, but the irony in it, is that it’s the juxtaposition of all that at its core." -jyl

The Pretty Wild’s latest single, "Button Eyes," is a mix of raw emotion and more of a pop vibe that I’ve been accustomed to hearing from the duo. It’s different, but very welcoming. The track draws you in with its layered, atmospheric production and catchy hooks, while the lyrics are bold with themes breaking free from toxicity, being used, and objectified. I was expecting another rapped verse that has been a staple in sLeepwALkeR and Kundalini, but they left it out for Button Eyes. However, they never let me down with their breakdowns. “You thought you could eat me alive? Cut out the parasite!” Hits you in the face leading into the breakdown the gives me goosebumps.

Overall “Button Eyes” is yet another killer single dropped by the fast rising duo. I’m excited to see their live shows and cant wait to see what’s to come for this incredibly talented band.
