Interview

  1. What 5 words would you use to describe your music?

Melancholic, Fun, Kaleidoscopic, Indie & Real

  1. Where is your favourite spot to write/ create?

My favourite spot to write my music is usually in my bedroom in the dark with LED strip lights on (specifically blue or pink!)

  1. Must have item when creating?

Funnily enough, I’ve realised that I need to have some sort of background noise, like cars passing, rain or white noise. But of course, I must have the Notes app.

  1. Who did you grow up listening to?

When I was growing up, I always had music playing around me as my dad was a DJ. But the ones that always stood out were when my mam would play Shania Twain, Daniel Bedingfield & Toni Braxton.

  1. Who are your current biggest inspirations?

My current inspirations have been Demi Lovato, Julia Michaels & Post Malone. I think individually their song writing skills are so striking and unique, and I aspire to write similarly whenever I approach new music.

  1. How did you find your sound/style?

I think I honed in on my sound after I released my debut EP “My Own Expectations”. With my debut EP, it explored a number of genres, such as Electropop, Synth Pop, Funk & Indie Pop. Through exploring these genres, I discovered that Indie Pop resonated with me the most out of all of the genres, and it allowed me to delve deeper into my lyrics. But through time I’ve started to pull from different artists such as Post Malone, Noah Cyrus, Thomston & Juliet Ivy.

  1. Anyone you would like to collaborate with?

I would love to work with Justin Tranter & Julia Michaels. I think as a team they create the most amazing stories and the most incredible songs, and it would be an absolute honour to work with them.

  1. What instrument would you like to learn if any?

I would love to learn guitar & piano. I use those instruments a lot in my songs so it would make things a lot easier & cheaper if I knew what to do with them!

  1. If you had to include a kazoo or a triangle in every single song you make, which would you choose?

Probably the triangle, I don’t think kazoo would suit anything I produce.

  1. What is your favourite music venue? (to attend as a fan or play as an artist)

I really loved the Glasgow Hydro, purely because that’s where I saw Demi Lovato.

  1. Which festival would you love to play at?

I would love to play Hyde Park, I think it looks so much fun and I love London so it’s a win-win.

  1. Who would you love to tour with and what is your dream venue to play?

I think I would love to tour with Troye Sivan or Kacey Musgraves, and I think I would love to play Newcastle Utilita Arena, because that’s where I see a lot of my favourite artists, and I always went with my dad.

  1. Favourite part of a show when performing?

I love the energy of a crowd. I love seeing people dancing.

  1. Funny stories from playing a show?

A drunk woman dressed as Madonna placed her plastic cup on the stage and nearly water damaged all the equipment! Not insanely funny.

  1. Future goals?

I would love to have a full-length album in the future and a headline tour. I’d also love merchandise for my current and future fans!

  1. Are you working on anything at the moment?

I am currently working on my second EP and I have my new single out on the 1st of March called “Younger Me”

  1. Can you recommend one of your songs and a song by another artist for our readers to listen to?

I would recommend “Please” as it is one of my favourite songs of mine and has a beautiful story. I would also recommend “Fiery” by an artists called DANE.
