Rain City Drive announce new album 'Things Are Different Now' out September 27, 2024 alongside new single “Over Me”

“Over Me” is their fourth single drop from their newly announced album ‘Things Are Different Now,’ out September 27th, 2024. With their other singles being “Medicate Me,” “Frozen,” and “Neverbloom,” “Over Me” closes out their single releases, thus far, as beautifully melodic and more emotional than the other releases. The closest might be the “Neverbloom,” but “Over Me” has less harsh drums making it a great mid playlist add.

While the lyrics to “Over Me” might be pretty straight forward- “thought you’d grow old with me, now you’re over me,” Matt McAndrew confirms that “Over Me is about finding out that someone you were dating has moved on. Even when you know the relationship has ended, there’s still the shock of seeing them with someone new and realizing the past is dead and buried.”

Rain City Drive has, in my opinion, continually been a source for reliably great rock music for when you need to sing or dance to the music instead of just head banging. And with their recent collaboration with Dayseeker on “Medicate Me,” they’ve hopped on the map once again with a banger that even those who wouldn’t normally listen to them can’t help but play this song on repeat.

“Over Me” is no different; I’d wager that few people can’t relate to this song- of watching the person you thought you’d end up with moving on with someone you knew. It’s an age old feeling that almost anyone can relate to, which makes it amazing song material.

Throughout their catalogue, and especially of the singles they’ve released, Rain City Drive shows that they know exactly how to pluck the emotional strings of the listener and that’s always the best way to get your song on repeat. Of the four songs they’ve released so far, every one has garnered attention and I can’t imagine the rest of the album would let us down if these are the teasers they’ve been releasing. With almost two months to wait until their album release, I’m positive the four singles are just going to get more play time to tide everyone over until they can appreciate the full album.

Just as their album comes out, they'll also be starting an almost 3 month run of tours, even headlining the first run from September 26th to October 29th. They'll be supported by widely loved Belmont, Until I Wake, Siamese, and, newer to the touring life, Nightlife (Who I had the pleasure of seeing on their first tour and they are absolutely someone you should watch and keep your eye on!). With a 5 band line up, that's going to be one hell of a concert to run with. Their, presumably, last tour of the year will be supporting Dayseeker with Heart of Gold opening for them both. While the headlining tour will be US based, the Dayseeker tour will be strictly European based, and I know without a doubt my UK based staff is so excited to have them come over. Whether you're in the US or UK, these tours aren't once to miss, make sure you grab your tickets while you can! (Tour dates below video)
