Negative Frame Release Brutal Single ‘Bad Blood’

London-based band Negative Frame continue to add their savage and explosive work to the UK hardcore scene. Their newest single ‘Bad Blood’ will have you hooked in seconds thanks to the opening drum fill and brutal riffs. It is packed with power and talent and highlights how much of a force Negative Frame really are.

The drum fill that draws you in builds and morphs into a hard, thrashing groove. This nearly thirty second instrumental is built up with gripping riffs, it is harsh and sets up the track for what’s to come.

Hard-hitting vocals come in, adding a further layer of heaviness that compliments the instrumentals effortlessly. These vocals are raw and emotive, deep roars and low tones.

‘Bad Blood’ becomes even more intricate as less than mid-way through the track switches to a hi-hat heavy beat, continuous, strong riffs, and a brief lack of vocals before a powerful scream transforms the track with a faster tempo that has you headbanging at home.

The violent breakdown comes with the sound effect of breaking glass and an interesting play with tempo that slows and quickens unexpectedly. A fleeting isolated scream highlights the vocal talent, and this breakdown is asking for a wild mosh pit, live. The abrupt end left no time for the track to slow.

The track is accompanied by a music video with striking visuals, a clear ode to the title. The caption remarks how it was filmed on four hours of sleep but with the amount of energy Negative Frame brings to the screen, you’d never know.

Negative Frame showcases the right way to make hardcore, the band's simultaneous talent across songwriting and instrumentals is impressive. ‘Bad Blood’ is heavy, with violent breakdowns and it is clear that all elements of the track have been considered to create an artistic and thrashing outcome. ‘Bad Blood’ is a three-and-a-half-minute power trip, gripping you and not letting you go right until the guitars fade out. It's clear that Negative Frame is here to make chaotic tracks that you want to have on repeat. I look forward to what 2025 has in store for them.
