Memphis May Fire Have Released Mighty New Single ‘Paralyzed’

Memphis May Fire have released new single ‘Paralyzed’ which is part of their ‘Paralyzed’ EP. A mighty single, creatively utilising a range of distorted synths, grating vocals and strong riffs.

Launching into the track with heavy vocals is an instantly strong start. As ‘Paralyzed’ gets going, there’s unexpected twists. A pause in the driving beat and eerie whispered vocals are unexpected but complement the nature of the track well.

The chorus is started with the drums kicking back in, drawing your attention to the intricate fills. It shies away from the heavier vocals here, but the powering riffs don’t stop.

The riffs are a huge stand out, a driving force that take ‘Paralyzed’ to the next level. Continuing through the track, you find yourself more and more impressed by Mullins vocal range.

Leading out of the chorus you’re eagerly awaiting a breakdown that does not disappoint. Even lower toned screams are gripping. ‘The perfect murder, with my own blade’ is accompanied by the sound of a scraping knife. A small but effective detail highlighting how much thought has gone into ‘Paralyzed’.

Not only is ‘Paralyzed’ a great listen and an easy one to keep on a loop but it also carries meaningful lyrics. Discussing the experience of suffering with anxiety it cleverly spans the intensity of emotions through sound.

Adding to the track further is the accompanying video with striking visuals.

‘Paralyzed’ is intense emotionally, lyrically and with its sound. Memphis May Fire have crafted a single that can easily connect with listeners. The more you listen, the more creative elements you pick up on. ‘Paralyzed’ is a forceful and creative release.
