I Believe - Killswitch Engage

I Believe - Killswitch Engage

Killswitch Engage is set to release their highly anticipated first album since 2019, titled “This Consequence,” on February 21, 2025.  Previewing what’s in store, they’ve already dropped two incredible songs off the new album. “Forever Aligned” was released in late November of 2024, and “I Believe” dropped just a few days ago.

“I Believe” is an incredibly powerful and motivating anthem that will help us crush our fears as we dive headfirst into 2025.  The song begins with a sweeping melody filled with chunky palm mutes, setting the stage for an epic journey.  Jesse’s powerful vocals, and the crushing drums in your face, set the stage for the fight we’re about to overcome together.  The lyrics delve into confronting those “I can’t” moments and never giving up, inspiring us to persevere through any obstacle.  We must keep the faith and believe we will conquer what we face.

To truly immerse yourself in the song’s essence, you must watch the music video. There’s no better way to put it: Killswitch absolutely nailed it with this visual masterpiece. The video starts with a man in a house in disrepair, symbolizing the challenges and struggles we all face. He appears defeated as everything around him crumbles. As he sits down to gather himself, he notices a bright light emanating from the door and decides to follow it. This act of curiosity leads him to an injured crow. As he works to save it, the darkly lit world around him begins to flood with sunlight. The flowers and trees start blooming, symbolizing hope and renewal. When the crow flies away safely, the man’s face lights up with a smile filled with hope. It’s as if he can hear Adam and Jesse reminding us to embrace the light and stay on course, assuring us that nothing can stand in our way.

Mark your calendars for Killswitch Engage’s tour, which kicks off in March and spans through mid-May. This tour will cover most of the continental United States, with a few Canadian stops as well. Kublai Khan TX, Fit for a King, and Frozen Soul will support the band during the April dates, while Shadows Fall, Fit for a King, and Boundaries will provide direct support for all May show dates.
