Guitar Virtuosos Cole Rolland And Sophie Lloyd Join Forces Once Again On New Collaboration
Canadian guitarist, singer, and producer, Cole Rolland, has just dropped a new song, 'Lost in a Memory' featuring Sophie Loyd. Their third track together, the creation of the song, was something of a therapy session for Cole, who explains: “’Lost in a Memory’ began as an outlet for some thoughts that had been weighing on me for some time. I knew that Sophie was the perfect feature for this track once the chorus had really taken shape, both melodically and stylistically. Her melodic shred approach, paired with her attention to detail regarding pre-existing melodies in the track, was precisely what was needed to take this one over the top.”
Cole decided to share the evolution of the song with his huge online audience by streaming the entire writing and production process via his Twitch channel. “Songs go through many refinements to get across this finish line, and I think it made it even more special for the audience to experience this in real time,” he says.
“This is the third track I’ve worked on with Cole; I was so excited to get working on it,” declares Sophie. “I feel like mine and Cole’s playing and writing styles really complement each other, and this song specifically not only showcases Cole's incredible playing but also his ability to mix, produce, and sing a killer song. I can't wait to hear what people think!”
“It was truly a pleasure to collaborate with Sophie on this new single, bringing my vision to life in the best possible way, continues Cole. “To everyone listening, thank you and enjoy!”

The accompanying music video also features Sophie, whose recently announced debut headline show, which had already been upgraded from Camden Assembly to Camden Underworld, is now totally sold out. The filming session produced a scary moment for the guest guitarist:
“This will definitely be in my memory for a long time,” explains Sophie. “Straight after filming my part in this song, I had to go to A&E to get a ring removed as my finger started swelling and going numb. Luckily, all is okay, and my finger is here to shred another day!”
COLE ROLLAND is best known as a singer, guitarist, and producer, with 1.46 million subscribers and more than 300 million views on YouTube. After a guitar video went viral when he was just 15, Cole spent the next decade transforming that initial spark into a blazing inferno. Quickly selling out a limited run of his Midnight guitar led to a full-blown signature deal. His inventive song reinterpretations earned invitations to perform with EDM/dance-pop duo Krewella and Grammy-nominated artists ILLENIUM and Adventure Club.
A guitar prodigy inspired by Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, and Zakk Wylde, Cole’s cover of 'Through the Fire and Flames' by British power metal band DragonForce launched his career in 2009. Each successive cover resulted in steadily explosive growth on YouTube and coverage from Guitar World, Premier Guitar, Kerrang!, and CBC Radio.
