Dasha took over Scala in London for an evening!

The evening started with Remember Monday, a trio, whose voices harmonized so well together. This was my first ever country show and not usually the sort of music I listen to, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Their set consisted of ‘Down with Me’, ‘Find My Way’ and ‘Famous’, before leading into a cover of ‘unwritten’ by Natasha Bedingfield which got the whole crowd joining in. I really enjoyed their last sing ‘Laugh About it’ which was about wishing small inconveniences on an ex, where they then listed them throughout the song.

Next to take the stage was a country DJ, Rattlesnake Johnny, who mixed songs by Post Malone, Luke Combs, and other country artists while a cowgirl taught the crowd to line dance, which got everyone moving and joining in. she even taught everyone the ‘boots stop workin’ dance from TikTok ready for Dasha’s set.

Next up was Dasha, she was accompanied on stage by her drummer, guitarist, bassist, and violinist.  She took to the stage and started with ‘What Happens Now?’, the title track of her most recent album. The set consisted of many unreleased songs including ‘Ain’t No Friend of Mine’, ‘Not at This Party’, ‘Leaving Don’t Mean Goodbye’, ‘Way Too Drunk’, ‘Run Like Hell’ and ‘Bye Bye Bye’ which were announced to be on the Deluxe Album coming out on September 13th! A few of my Favourites from the evening, were ‘Talk of the Town’ and ‘Didn’t I’, with the latter being her most recently released single. She also added ‘Drown Me’ to the setlist after a fan requested it and it got everyone in their feels before following it up with ‘Run Like Hell’ which she joked were completely opposite vibes. The other songs on the setlist included ‘Share This City’, ‘Even Cowboys Cry’, ‘42’ and ‘King of California’. Before ending the evening with the viral ‘Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) while she performed the dance on stage and got the whole crowd to follow suit.

I will admit that I was sceptical going to this gig as I had heard a few people say she was a bad performer online. However, that was not the case at all, the stage presence and atmosphere were immaculate and there’s something special about her songs that make me love them despite being completely different genres to what I usually listen to. She got the crowd singing lyrics back to her all night long and even jumped into the crowd to sing with everyone and interacted with her fans throughout the whole performance. I can’t wait to see her continue to prove the haters wrong and take over the world!

I would definitely see again, given the chance! Be sure to catch her at Reading and Leeds Festivals if you are going and on the rest of her US Tour.
