Calva Louise drop a groundbreaking new single ahead of EU & UK tour

If there’s one thing Calva Louise does exceptionally well, it’s crafting an immersive world where their music, visuals, and storytelling all collide to create ground-breaking art and their latest single, "WTF," is no exception. The track is a thunderous, genre-blending burst of energy that serves to solidify their place as one of the most creative, progressive bands in the modern alternative scene.

Produced by Pendulum’s Gareth McGrillen, Mazare, and the Queen herself, Calva Louise’ Jess Allanic, “WTF” is nothing short of a sonic adrenaline rush, balancing frenetic electronic keys with heavy, distorted guitars and razor-sharp vocals that just cut right through you. The result is a track that only adds to the cinematic music video, drawing listeners deeper into the band’s ever-expanding sci-fi-inspired universe.

Huge shout out to Alizon Taho on the bass in this new single, he absolutely killed it and is definitely a highlight for us at 2470!

The music video, which is once again expertly directed and visually crafted by Allanic, is set in January 1994 and follows Louise, portrayed by Dylan Topping, as she experiences increasingly eerie phenomena inside her home. The creeping sense of paranoia builds until she realizes that something is watching her. In a surreal twist, her stalker turns out to be a version of herself, forcing her to confront a glitching reality that isn’t what she believed it to be.

Speaking about the track, Jess Allanic explains:

“WTF is about that feeling of powerlessness that occurs when we are in situations beyond our control. Even being stoic or positive is not enough to withstand and face the challenges thrown at us, but at the same time, we don’t want to completely give up. The song deals with that limbo of falling apart while not wanting to succumb to nihilism. It’s an angry cry at whatever forces are listening, asking: ‘WTF am I meant to do?’”

Lyrically, the frustration and chaos of the track reflect this internal struggle, mirroring the anxious, existential energy that defines much of the band’s recent work. The fusion of punk aggression, electronic intensity, and cinematic world-building makes “WTF” feel both deeply personal and part of something much bigger – a recurring theme in Calva Louise’s evolving lore.

With the likes of BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! backing them, as well as a growing global fanbase, Calva Louise is stepping into their biggest tour yet, joining Bloodywood as direct support for their huge UK/EU tour this March. Playing some of their largest venues to date - including London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

This tour is a pivotal moment for Calva Lousie. Already becoming well known for their genre-defying live shows, this run is set to introduce them to an even bigger audience, solidifying their place as one of the most prominent rising stars in the alternative music scene.

This all comes off a triumphant run at Shiprocked Festival, making "WTF" is bold, chaotic, and quite frankly, gripping – a track that dares you to embrace the unknown, scream into the void, and keep moving forward. If this is a taste of what’s to come, their 2024 is about to be explosive.
