Phoenix, AZ death metal band Atoll has released their second single, Autonomic AutoSarcophgy, from their upcoming new album Inhuman Imants. The album is set to be released February 23rd via Unique Leader Records. The band describes the track as “a descent into the abyss of our own primal urges, an exploration of the uncontrollable hunger that resides within.”

Upon listening, the track is very well produced. It’s in your face and very unforgiving. Blast beats, pig squeals, and BLEGHS consume you as well as slammy guitar riffs. What I appreciate most about the track is that it’s very bass forward. You can really hear the bass line come through the mix, and I feel like that often gets lost in today’s music. The half time breakdown towards the end of the song was the star for me. It was a nice contrast and change of speed that complimented the rest of the track.
