Arch Enemy Releases New “Paper Tiger” Single and Video
Arch Enemy released its captivating new single and video, “Paper Tiger” on February 6, 2025 as a teaser for their new album, 'Blood Dynasty,' set to release in late March.
The track starts off with a fast and gradually increasing pace, and then, BAM! Not wasting time, the ferocity of Alissa White-Gluz’s voice quickly hits you after a few lines. A surprise and attention-grabbing high-pitched scream follows, reminiscent of 80s hard rock hair bands. Amazing! Alissa’s heavy death metal growls added to the mix provide an array of sounds, with straight up old-school metal/hair band/aggressive heavy metal vibes. It is a fun song with raw and unmatched energy.
The impressive guitar riffs throughout the song are crisp and connect the verses strongly yet seamlessly. Fast-paced drums and bass magnify the energy. The tempo winds down a bit toward the end, but it is brief, and the song quickly reiterates its message with force.
Alissa continues to demonstrate incredible vocal talent, with a stage presence in the video that commands attention. The musicians and sound are tight from the beginning to the end. This track is on fire!
Per founder and guitarist Michael Amott, “Paper Tiger” is a personal favorite—these riffs are so much fun to play. The accompanying video was shot on a German airfield last summer with our visionary friend Mumpi. Turn it up and let it roar!”
This track will be included on the band’s new album, “Blood Dynasty,” which is slated to be released on March 28, 2025, via Century Media records. It will contain 11 new tracks and will be their 12th studio album.
Arch Enemy consists of Alissa White-Gluz (Vocals), Michael Amott (Guitars), Joey Concepcion (Guitars), Sharlee D’Angelo (Bass), and Daniel Erlandsson (Drums).
There will be a North American tour beginning on April 14, 2025.
