Alpha Wolf Shows Their Melodic Side In “Whenever You’re Ready”

Aussie titans Alpha Wolf recently released a new single titled Whenever You’re Ready off of their soon to be released album “Half Living Things”. According to the band, the song was a way for them to keep listeners on their toes.

“Alpha Wolf like to let our listeners expect the unexpected at all times and ‘Whenever You’re Ready’ is a testament to exactly that. We could feel the impact of this song from the moment the first chords were written. Dancing around on our melodic side, this song touches on the complications between people with a deep connection to one another and ultimately losing them. Everyone has a story to tell in this regard and this is ours.”

I’ve come to love the band so much after seeing them open for Motionless In White on Touring The End Of The World. Following Bring Back The Noise and Sucks To Suck ft Ice T, I had high expectations. Nothing would prepare me for what I was about to listen to.

Hazy ambience starts the track before being accompanied by guitars and drums. Vocalist Lochie Keogh’s vocals hit you like a freight train and immediately grab your attention. I immediately get BMTH, Polaris, and Amity Affliction vibes in the best of ways. It’s not hard to see why people are so drawn to their sound, given the ferocity and emotion packed into the track. The chorus further shows the bands ability to blend their aggression they are known for with this new melodic approach and it creates such a dynamic contrast.

The rest of the song is pretty straight forward with no real heavy breakdowns that we all have come to expect. Keogh’s vocals are very prominent in the song. The song was a very welcomed switch from what I’ve come to expect from the Aussies.now I have to go pre-order my vinyl because I’m absolutely itching for more. Reserve your copy here
